Radio Shack Complaint - Extended warranty purchased at Radio Shack
I purchased the above mentioned headphone in March 2011, had to exchange it three times before I got one that worked properly. Now fast forward 5 and a half months to August and it is broken and must be replaced. I love this headphone and this is the second model I have bought from Plantronics(my grandson broke the first one, not the fault of the company). While comfortable and really good reception for both the caller and the callee. I purchased the extended warranty because the clerk told us it was in our best interests. She stated that the extended warranty was good because if it broke we would be able to get a new headset by just returning it. She stated that it would be a simple remove and replace. She even went as far as to tell us that many people buy this warranty because at the end of the year if a new model comes out you can update without any additional cost. Not only do they not honor the warranty in such a manor but they tell you that they don't provide the warranty it comes from a third party so they need to take our item and send it back to the company that provides the warranty and then you will receive a voucher via email and then you take that back to them and get a replacement. For a company that doesn't provide the warranty they sure do make sure they get that sale back. In my opinion this is not a good policy and if it was they wouldn't tell you a different story when they were selling it to you. No more Radio Shack for me.
