Corn King Complaint - Unsatisfactory product

Review by mkhausner2 on 2011-08-09
I picked up a Corn King Ham by mistake, and am I ever sorry. I thought I was reaching for a Farmland Ham. Since I thought it was Farmland, I didn't read the label. If I had read the label, I would not have been surprised by the poor quality. It had a bloody vein and streak of what the label calls 'a portion of ground ham shank and ham'. 35% of the ham is added product. I will never ever purchase a Corn King ham again.

I've seen similar complaints. This brand sounds horrible. Maybe you should try returning it.

Eww. I always look at the cut side of the ham, which is visible through the plastic covering. I base my purchase on what my eyes tell me.

We go to a local butcher and buy fresh, you should try it too. They are extremely easy to prepare and the taste is far SUPERIOR!

Olie> That is exactly what they want you to do. Butchers and meat packers are accustomed to packaging the product in the utmost optimal position, so that it looks better for the customer. Packages of bacon are the prime example. How many times have we all got home only to find the slices were nothing but fat once they were separated?
