Assurion Complaint - Takes forever to get a new phone!

I made an insurance claim on July 24,2011 for my Milestone X that had been damaged. The phone is apparently on back order and as of now I haven't received my phone. I'm paying over $100 a month for my Alltel plan for a phone I can't use. Assurion keeps telling me it'll be in soon and in the mean time I wait.

They haven't offered me a reimbursement on my deductible or actual cell pone plan so I wait......indefinitely!

If it's on backorder, they cannot just make it magically reappear.

Sometimes this is what happens, and frustrating yes.

I have had better luck purchasing phones from ebay or Craigslist, always keeping a spare, than I had with insurance. If something happens to my current phone, I simply activate my replacement phone with no service interruption. With the deductible and monthly fee, it is almost always cheaper to do this rather than purchase the insurance, and a lot less of a hassle.

Looking at some of the reviews about Asurion on the web, it seems they spend most of their time denying claims or providing slow responses to their customers. You can file a complaint about them at http://ftccomplaintassistant.gov
