Hotwire Complaint - Non Existent Car Reservation
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- After receiving an excellent rate for the van I wanted for a vacation trip to Cape Cod I was very happy with Hotwire. I received two email confirmations and thought I was all set for vacation. However, when I arrived to pick up the rental van in Nashua NH expecting to drive off with exactly the van and rate promised through Hotwire and two reservation confirmations, there was no van. No van in NH. No van nearby. No van anywhere near. When I spoke to the person on the counter he said he was sorry, but there was no van available anywhere. I called Hotwire and received the standard script about company policy. I asked for a supervisor and was told I would have to hold on if I insisted on speaking to a supervisor. I insisted. The end result was a meek offer to refund $25. After an hour on hold or speaking to someone reading a script, I gave up. But, not for long.
I am writing a letter to every CEO or what ever until I receive a reasonable compensation for the mess Hotwire left me in at the beginning of a vacation.
