The Blackeyed Pea Informative - Should I stay or should I go?

Review by 15910 on 2005-07-08
USA, COLORADO -- I received a gift card for "The Pea" and was wondering what their food is like. Are they comparable to maybe Applebee's or Chili's? Good, bad? I'm not one to eat somewhere just because it's free.

I can't stand Black Eyed Pea. I'm not really huge on the budget chain restraunts or what have you, but Black Eyed Pea is down there for me. This is just based on menu, food and taste, the service was just fine each time. I got the catfish, and then a burger the next time, both very stale tasting. The catfish was just nasty. Bascially I just found the food to be boring and bland.

I also heard they served their chicken wings raw. Hey, why don't you just give it a shot? Even if it sucks, you can still come up with a good review (or not).

I have very few nice things to say about Black Eyed Pea. We went to the one by SW Plaza because we had a gift certificate. It was crowded, slow service, no clean silverware, bad food... While we sat I watched the Hostess rolling silverware as she was flirting with a staff person. She dropped some on the floor, proceeded to pick it up and roll it in the napkin. The silverware I had at my setting was dirty, they did not have a spoon and brought me a spoon you would stir your tea with. I asked to speak to a manager as we were leaving. I said I do not want a free meal because I have a gift certificate to pay and I will never come back again.
Okay so our school has an eat out fundraiser and it was Black Eyed Pea night. Thought I would try again. Horrid food, service was fine. I just can not recommend anyone going there. Regift the G.C. It could be the new fruitcake.
