Review by Anonymous on 2011-08-19
I spoke to a worker on Aol that said they where charging me a sir charge on my account every month of 7.00 Dollars they said that I used a check to pay my account and I did not I used my Visa debit and now after all this time my bill went from 18.99 To 11.99 And and I want to get my money that they have taken from me I may file a small claims on Aol for all the money they have stolen from me so if you got Aol and your not sure you too could be getting charged 7.00 Dollars too [ what a scam ] you would thing with a company that large and if there are others out there you to have lost hundreds a year I look at my online backing and it don't tell me they charged 7.00 More dollars.

That is theft and needs to pay it back for me that's almost 84.00 A year over years of service to Aol. Com I hope the owner likes that new TV or new house we are all paying for jerk?

Why are you being charged at all? I thought AOL was free now?

As an ISP I don't think AOL has ever been free - other than that "first month free" plan to get you hooked.

I still use my AOL email account and that is free. I used Comcast for my ISP. Anyone who still uses AOL for dialup is charged a monthly fee. Everyone needs to check their credit card statements every month to make sure the charges are correct.

Aol is still around???? lol. Seriously though, aol would give me a lot of problems in the 90's, i gave up on it. I haven't used any dialup in years. And i don't miss the slow to get on dialing lol. But yea, aol is good at charging a crap load. I remember when i paid 30 bucks for aol, but with facebook to communicate with friends, i really dont see myself ever needing aol again.

Oh, the days when AOL tried to convince us IT WAS the internet. Who uses dialup any longer? I kept AOL for years after switching to HSD with a provider, but felt the need for the AOL dialup in places where there was no HSD available. No longer: I have not been anywhere in the past few years that did not have free HSD (hotels, coffee stores, etc.)
