Cape Ann Audio Complaint - Buying from Cape Ann Audio on Ebay - NAD 3240PE Amp
NAD 3240PE Amp - Complaint
CAPE ANN, MASSACHUSETTS -- I had been watching this NAD 3240PE amp for a few days from someone I had on my favorite list, after buying an A/D/S A2 amp sometime ago. The guy, Dennis, seemed to be a stand up seller from an area I was quite formilure with. The auction was on the last day, 8/21/11, so I placed a bid and was prompyly out bid, again I placed a higher bid and that one was good! Later I checked back and I was out bid again! So I put in a higher bid, knowing in the back of my mind I was going to get a great amp from Dennis...however he blocked my bid! I tried several times thinking it was a mystake, but still no go! I tried asking a question, I was blocked from that also! Now a day later I've tried to even see what he has listed on Ebay,(since a day ago he had many auctions going) and he has blocked me from even looking! I have a 100% feed back and in the 5 years I've had an Ebay account, I've only given 1 "neutral" feedback and that was only after a great deal trouble from the seller and many second thoughts! Today I have Googled "Cape Ann Audio" and found that I'm not the only one to have been blocked by Dennis of the Ebay store, Cape Ann Audio, and I'm sure I won't be the last until Dennis is finally shut down by Ebay! So, if your in the market to buy vintage used highend audio equipment, I'd steer clear of any dealings with Dennis of capeannaudio on Ebay! Don't just take my word for it, Google it! Thanks for letting me vent! :-/

Sounds like Dennis did you a favor when he blocked you.

I had a very similar problem with that jerk. I filled out a bunch of paperwork with EBAY, to have him removed as a seller. Please do yourself a favor and do the same. They need more complaints about him. I even sent all my correspondences to them as proof. Yes you did yourself a favor. I also notified ROTEL that he was selling their stuff online, as new. ROTEL told me he is not an authorized dealer nor ever will be. I asked Dennis about a warranty on a "new" ROTEL unit and was blocked forever. ROTEL will not warranty anything sold over the internet. I'm glad they don't. Good luck
