Terpstra Toro Repair Griffith,IN Complaint - Sloppy Repair Station

Review by Sun Devil Knitter on 2011-08-25
GRIFFITH, INDIANA -- My father bought all of his Toro (snow blowers, lawn mowers) from this facility. So, I tried to do the same. Took my lawn mower to them for annual repairs. Lately, I have been getting sloppy service ( and lots of jazzy back talk). Yesterday, picked up lawn mower (second repair this season) and caught a screw let out. This has occurred before. When the head repair man ( no diversity in this repair station) came out, I was told that I do not maintain my mower and it is old. I stated "Not true, check your records I bring it in every spring".Repair man began to tell me that I needed to bring it in twice a year ( I live in the Chicago area) and my mower was old. Well I bought a second Toro snow plow from them in 2/11. If I need to purchase another lawn mower, speaking to me in such a tone will not make a sale. Other sloppy repairs: bought 4 tires, they put on 3 tires; dropped mower while putting it into car. I also feel that this repair man would not have spoken to a man in such a demeaning tone. Also, they never apologize for their screw ups. I rate this station not female friendly.

I would only not buy another product there, I would find a new repair shop, which it sounds like you need quite often. If you are a homeowner, I can't imagine why you would need to go twice a year.

However, with this many repairs, it makes sense to buy a new mower - it can't be cheap to take your mower in this often.

You shouldn't have to be doing so much on a mower. Store it without gas during the winter, clean and sharpen the blade in the spring.
