Sears Complaint - Sears Unfair Pricing
0n 6/24/2011 I went into the Sears Store #6421 located in Flint Michigan to purchase 4 205/75/14 Guardian Tires for my 1962 Mercury Monterey. The store only had two at a cost of $64.98 per tire. I purchased the two tires there and the store sent me to the store in Grandville, MI Store # 2671 to purchase the other two matching tires. I purchased two identical tires at this store to be told that the cost was $68.98 per tire at this location - $4.00 higher per tire. I explained that less than 2 hours ago, I purchased two tires at the Flint Sears Store and showed them my invoice, but was still told I had to pay the additional amount. I called Sears customer service to be told that this was their standard practice. I asked about their price match guarantee which is on their web site and was told that did not apply. IN OTHER WORDS, SEARS WILL MATCH OTHER RETAILERS PRICES BUT NOT THEIR OWN!!!!! This is pretty crappy. I will never purchase anything from Sears before and my family have been customers of Sears since the 1920's. I remember the days when you ordered something form the catalog and the prices were all the same. To bad it is not that way when you go to the Sears Store.
