Alamo Complaint - Alamo doesn't care about customers
I booked a car rental with Alamo almost a month in advance. I live in No Carolina right on the coast, and several days before I was to travel to Seattle and pick up my rental car at the Seattle airport, we were forced to change our travel plans due to an impending serious hurricane. We had to board up all the windows and doors of our house and wait out the hurricane. All flights were cancelled and everything around here closed down. After the hurricane passed, we had to deal with flooding surrounding our house, and remove all of the boards from the windows and doors of the house. Therefore, we had to change our vacation plans (and car reservation) by ONE DAY. When we called Alamo to move our reservation ahead 24 hours, they refused to honor our original price and were charging us more than $75 additional for a one-day rental. We spoke to a manager who and told our story and begged them to simply allow us to rent the car one day later, since the change was not under our control. They refused, and after we insisted on speaking with upper management we were given some bogus phone number where we were kept on hold (with music playing) for an ENTIRE HOUR - no kidding. Obviously Alamo is not a company that cares one bit about customers, so I will never rent from them again and will tell everyone that I know how little they care.
