Kit Carson Restaurant Compliment - Pretty good meal, one slight clinker
CHEHALIS, WASHINGTON -- We have been seeing the Kit Carson Steakhouse since we moved to Chehalis, and had noticed a sign on the building that advertised a Steak & Egg Breakfast for $6.99. We decided to try it this morning, and were favorably impressed. As you enter, there is a six-foot Betty Boop figure in carhop get-up, and the atmosphere is very nice. Our waitress, no name tag, was johnny on the spot the whole time we were there, and was very cheerful and outgoing. We ordered the special, and when the plates came, we found the steaks done exactly to our order, the eggs scrambled very fluffy, and a large serving of hashbrowns. The coffee was hot and delicious, and the waitress never let it fall below the 3/4 mark. The only problem we had was the scones served with the meal. I jokingly told Crystal that it must have been a typo on the menu, and it shoud have read 'stones.' The so-called scone was very heavy, and I had a couple of bites, and Crystal didn't even try it. They should try scones at a Flying J truckstop. We did find out that the next time we go, we can order regular toast. Crystal had read some unfavorable reviews of Kit Carson, but they were from 2008-2009. An Asian couple purchased the restaurant about four months ago, and I am convinced the poor reviews were due to the previous owner. Kit Carson's is easy to find, exit 76 just off I-5. If you plan on going, leave us an M3C message, and we will try to meet you for coffee.
