Internetishop.com Complaint - Beware of Station Wagon based companies like Internetishop.com - computer barebone

computer barebone - Complaint
Review by Superfly on 2005-07-19
POMONA, CALIFORNIA -- I started purchasing from Internetishop.com in the Spring of 2004. I was purchasing barebone computers from them and finishing assembling the whole computer myself. After the third computer however, I started having problems with some of the computers they were sending me. So I started calling them for Tech Support. It should have struck a cord with me when these people can't even understand English or can't answer your questions about their products. Thats when I made the mistake of orderng 3 more barebone computers from them. Two arrived all dinged up and malfunctioning and so I returned them to internetishop.com for repairs. I must have waited for like 3 weeks and still nothing. After 3 weeks they send me a tracking number for DHL and it took 10 days for the item to reach me. Upon opening the package I saw that they had simply returned my none working computer but now their phone lines were disconnected, their website was gone etc. and I had lost $660.00 never to be seen again.

A lesson for all online buyers of electronics would be that we do not buy from companies that are not advertised as big player companies. There are various very reputable companies that are advertised everywhere. Such companies as internetishop.com who operate out of the back of a station wagon should be avoided because they can switch off their cell phones and close the back of the station wagon and drive off at any time. Then, BINGO... you and I are left with no merchandise and a heap of money lost to such hooligans as this company. The internet has many such companies. Any body can set up a website and accept payments. I urge all online electronics buyers to seek bigger advertised companies that will not disappear overnite.

This is reasonable advice. I would always recommend buying from sites that are well-known. I got ripped a few years ago by a legit looking site that was apparently run by 2 foreign immigrants out of their house. They had all these little "upgrade" and "guarantee" options, that meant nothing, you got the
same part no matter what you picked and all the options and guarantees were nothing more than checkboxes on an online form that meant you paid more money.
