Stream Energy Informative - Beware: Many of the negative reviews here are fraudsters. - Stream Energy Customer Service and Billing

Stream Energy Customer Service and Billing
Review by cineramaguy64 on 2011-09-07
I notice many of the negative reviews are from people complaing about their billing and Shut Offs. Just so everyone is aware, Stream only provides the Energy. You are still being billed by your original Old Energy provider such as TXU. Stream does NOT send you the Bill. The only thing Stream Energy does is provide it's customers with a lower rate for the Electricity or Gas (If you're a Stream Customer in Georgia) used on a monthly billing cycle.

I also notice many complaining of locked in rates and being charged a fee to switch away from Stream Energy. Did these people not understand that they had the option to sign up for a variable rate with no penalty for early withdrawal or canncellation fees?

The woman who complained about being shut off for being 20 days late on her bill payment, ..... Well what do you say to that? How about budget your money better to pay the important bills before your Netflix or cable TV bills.

Bottom line, Stream offers a better rate for a product we ALL use. Don't blame them for things you don't understand. Do your homework before you sign.

I think the customer does have some responsibility to be informed. It is not their responsibility to you know a company's business, from the technical details to their infrastructure and contractors! If you're company is the face of the business, customer service is your responsibility.

I say "Thanks for providing feedback - the customer is always right. Stop by the community section. Great review!"

And it sounds like you sell Stream Energy. The bills are sent from Stream Energy. Sure they buy the service from Oncor and resell it, but the billing issues are from Stream, they need to take responsibility and inform the customer. And for the customer that woke up to darkness, true she should pay her bill on time, but what about the misinformation the rep gave her. Not good business
