My3cents.com - What have you done to my Miracle Whip salad dressing

Review by Nancy Mae on 2011-09-07
OACOMA, SOUTH DAKOTA -- I have been asked to bring my potato salad to every potluck for 50 years, but now I won't even eat it. There is absolutely no taste to your dressing any more. Where is the zing? Plus, my salad turns to potato soup after half a day. It is so watery and disgusting

I've never bought Miracle Whip but always bought the Kraft Mayonnaise. The recipe/formula, was changed a few years back. That's when I started buying the store brands or different brands for real mayonnaise as it is called. There honestly was a difference in what Kraft now calls mayonnaise. I don't know what they did, but it's not good to me.

I think it still tastes the same

I am with the others. I have not seen a change in taste. My mother just made potato salad with it a couple of days ago, and it lasted for 2 days after she left.

We have used Miracle Whip all of our lives, and we have noticed no change in the product. For lunch today, I had a baloney, salami and MW sandwich, and it was as good as ever. Maybe your jar was left on a loading dock too long. I would contact Kraft Foods or the store where you bought it.

My Aunt, Mother and myself have all noticed that the Miracle Whip gets watery after 2 days. We have always made our recipes the exact same way for many years and noticed this past year that we are having problems with our recipes being watery around 2 days later.

Is the Miracle Whip kept in the refrigerator after opening? If it's kept at room temperature, it could get watery. I prefer Marzetti Slaw Dressing, although I think it's only available in the Midwest. That makes great potato salad.
