Waldbaum's Supermarket-Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, Ny Complaint - Mice On Shelves In Baking Section

Review by mlanie1111 on 2011-09-09
I work on a reset team. We reset the baking section on Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn Waldbaum's on Wednesday, September 7th. The shelves were full of mice droppings as they were 3 weeks ago doing just cut-ins on shelves. However, now removing the products,,several shelves had glue traps with dead mice in them. Dummy boxes on the shelves had dead mice on the top of them. Metal traps on the bottom shelves had dead mice. I personally disposed of several dozen mice. Air fresheners were on the shelves behind merchandise. It's appalling that customers are buying boxes of cake mixes and frosting that are packed out on shelves with dead mice and their feces. I would think that this can be a major health issue.... and cleaning the top backboard of a shelf so it appears clean if a store executive visits is not even worthy of discussion, in my opinion, once the mice are disposed of and shelves cleaned and new shelf liners put on.

Customers deserve the right to shop in a clean and safe area. I'm sure they couldn't care less if Pillsbury or Betty Crocker was on shelf 4 or 5 or if there is a smudge on the backboard. The priority here should be to totally disinfect that entire section..The rest of the store's maintenance leaves a lot to be desired from the filth, dirt, and garbage throughout the store, backroom, and basement that I have seen and had to breathe in.

You should call the heatlh department. If nobody calls them, nothing changes, then nothing changes.

By the way, what is a reset team? I've never ever worked in retail, so I'm not at all familiar with their terms, if this is a term.

Skye, it means to rearrange the products and/or to display it differently than before. Also, if there is new product, room is made.
