MagicJack Complaint - Shady company (liars)
I obtained magicJack a couple years ago and was satisfied with the purchase despite occasional problems; in fact, I referred it to hundreds of contacts. However, at the time of said purchase, magicJack did not offer any phone numbers with my local area code (812). I was informed by magicJack (AT&T)that once my area code became available, I could request and receive a new phone number at no charge. I was also informed at time of purchase that I could change my phone number once (the first time) for free, but would be charged for any additional requests for new number. I just learned that my area code is now available. I still have my original San Francisco area code (which my friends and family can not call unless paying long-distance fees). I contacted magicJack customer support to have my number changed and they insist on charging me for said change despite the two forgoing free assertions which the agent acknowledged. He told me that they don't do it any more. This is a breach of our original purchase agreement. What LIES ahead?
