Alamo El Salvador Informative - Poor Ineficient and RIpping Rental Company - Car Rental
Car Rental
ALAMO, El Salvador, Car Rental. I just had a really bad experience with this company. After having booked a car rental in the main office in San Salvador, I was driven to the Airport office (about 90 minutes drive both way) to pick up the vehicle. I drove it for three days and I returned it to the airport office before departing back to US.
The return procedure is very Silly, Alamo examined the car like 20 times, going around inspecting the car from different angles against the sun looking for smudgies in the vehicle. Finally they found a little tiny line 2" long on the bottom part of the rear bumper (the car was a KIA, rio 2011). Of course they wanted to charge for the line which I deny to pay. They held us for over an hour without providing the transportation back to the airport. We ended up losing our flight. After several arguments and realizing they didn't have anything to really charge for I was released from the office.
Alamo should revise their policy to avoid inflicting this inconvenience on their customers, how is possible a tiny line will require such a charge for repair.

ALWAYS get the insurance in a Latin American country. Ripping off folks is a way of like down there.
