Vanderbilt Mortgage Complaint - Very Unprofessional Customer Service
I don't like to complain, & I know the csrs are just doing their job, but we had our financing through OAC, which went bankrupt & Vanderbilt took over our loan. With OAC, we had a 17 day grace period, now we have none. If our payment is not in on the 1st, Vanderbilt calls EVERY DAY until they receive payment, trying to coerce you into doing a check by phone. When you refuse to do that, they say, "The calls are going to continue until you make the payment, we don't accept partial payments..." The last csr I spoke to was the worst. I tried to explain our financial difficulties and the fact that we have NEVER missed a payment, although they are sometimes past the due date, and her reply was, "It's our home until you pay for it!" She continued to be rude and harassing. If at all possible -- DO NOT FINANCE WITH VANDERBILT MORTGAGE. They send notices every month that we don't have homeowner's insurance, which we do, and try to force us to use their insurance, which is almost $1,000 per year, whereas we pay only approximately $200-300 per year with Nationwide.
