Grand Hotel,2100 Baltimore Ave, Ocean City, MD, 21842 Informative - Ruin Vacation

Review by ellena20511 on 2001-11-14
OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND -- On Augest 6, 7 and 8th my family and I stayed at your hotel. We booked our resevations through your toll free number and we were also sent information on the hotel. We were assured an ocean front room, roll away bed and and a coffee maker. None of these items were ever provided even though numerous requests were made. However we were prodived with a room that upon arrival had hair in the bathroom, a flithy patio, dirty floors and bedspreads that were both dirty and disgusting. We complainded several times to the front desk and they offered new bedspreads but none were available in the ENTIRE hotel. We said we would settle for blankets, none were available either. Every morning I would voice my concerns over the flith in our room and I was assured it would be taken care of. It never was. It was so gross that the drapes appeared to have sauce or some food product all over them but housekeeping said they could not be taken down. We tried to get another hotel in the area but none were available. I spoke with the front desk several times and little to nothing was done. I asked to speak with the manager upon check out to voice my disgust, the people at the front desk took over an hour to locate him and upon locating him he informed me that yes he was in charge but he had no authorization to adjust the bill for any amount greater than 100.00. This manager also informed me that he had only been working at the hotel for a couple of weeks. I believe his name was Tom ( new head of housekeeping) and he suggested I called the hotel upon returning home. The housekeeping Manager ( Tom ) can verify our rooms condition, he even said it was disgusting. I did this several times and everytime the person I spoke with was going to get back to me. They never did. I am totally disgusted and am about to contact the attorney general unless I am refunded. No one should have had to endure the sub-standard conditions we were suppose to be vacationing in and put up with this poor customer service

I would like a full refund

I think you should get a refund, but not a full one. If you were so grossed out and hated it so much then you could have left and went home. You stayed thus it couldn't of been that bad. If you couldn't of gone home then you could of stayed in salisbury or another close city which has plenty of available rooms all the time.It is just not on the ocean.

As a Director of Housekeeping, I can understand your frustration and you should get a full refund and call your credit card company and dispute the charges. I work for a Hilton and I stayed at a sister property at Hilton Woodland Hills Calif and it was one of the worst experiences I ever had and I was ashamed that this hotel had the ugly service, dirty room, nasty employees well you know what I mean you experienced it as well. Don't settle get your money back!
