Resort Atlantic City Complaint - Resort Casino Vallet Parking.

Review by jborges on 2011-09-13
ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY -- I rented 2 rooms for the July 4th week. My car was Vallet Parked the entire stay (5 days). When I got my car back after checking out, everything from the glove compartment was sprawled all over the passenger seat. My GARMIN GPS was missing. I filed a report with the Manager, who took pictures and gave me a claim number. After more than 2 months I received a letter stating they were not responsible. The reason was the Vallet ticket states in the back"They are not responsible. I spent over $3500.00 in my stay there that week between the 2 rooms, dinner and entertainment. The GPS only cost $129.00. Since they opt not to re-inburst me I will not be returning.

Did you file a police report? In situations like this it may force the managers hand. I believe that insurance rates for resorts go up with too many thefts from the property.

Unfortunately, you park at your own risk when you use these services. They do not accept liability for stolen property.

It is best to never leave valuables in your car. You never know how someone else is going to do.

I second the notion that you should have filed a police report. The hotel isn't liable, as per their fine print in the policy, but they may be able to give information on who had access to your vehicle to the police so the PD can investigate.

And as BEJ said, it's always best to keep valuables out of your car, and to use the in-room safe (or luggage locks if nothing else) to lock up valuables in your hotel room.
