McDonald's Complaint - Condiments - Mustard

Review by kaymccrimon on 2011-09-14
I went to a McDonald's restaurant today and ordered a McChicken sandwich. I asked if they could replace the mayo with mustard, and was informed that I had to pay an extra. 40 because the sandwich was not made with mustard. Are you kidding me?? Really? Is this how we're rolling in America now? This was UNBELIEVABLE - no, this was INCREDULOUS!!!! How do they serve food with a straight face? I've never been so insulted and want to know if this is now a standard policy at McDonald's because I have ordered this sandwich many times with MUSTARD and was never charged extra.

Isn't mustard cheaper than mayo??? That is just wrong.

I believe it is standard practice to charge for things not included, and not give a credit for things removed, at many fast food joints.

Mcdonald's is really getting cheap lately. I think it's cause they are re-modeling a lot of their stores, or building new ones. They must need the money for construction

I agree they shouldn't charge you to change a condiment they got loads of the stuff.

Ever since they raised the price for a egg mcmuffin to almost $2 I have been kind of upset with them used to be a buck few years ago only thing I really like there and the nuggets.

At Chick-Fil-A they will give a credit for an item that you ask to have removed from your sandwich. I think that's a good testament for their business practice. McDonalds is just trying to make extra money, probably for the reasons little stated.

This is as bad as when they wanted an extra .40 cents from Shorty for her sauce.

They tore down the Mcdonald's by my work and are building a new one in its place. I don't understand why they did that

McDonald's is never going to be hip its always going to be a overrated junk-food place were you get your fix when your looking for cheap slop.

I hope this isn't a continuing trend. My wife always requests her chicken sandwiches the same way, with mustard instead of mayo.

Personally, what I would do if I wanted mustard I would just say no mayo and if I took my chicken sammy home I'd add the mustard myself but that’s just me.

Good Grief. Order your sandwich with no mayonnaise. When it is given to you ask for a packet or two of mustard. I don't know of a FF place that won't give a customer a packet of ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise upon request at no extra charge.

The price of mayonnaise has skyrocketed while mustard is dirt cheap. You'd think McDonald's would be thrilled to substitute mustard. They'd rather make forty cents and risk losing a customer? That's not a good plan.
