At 4:37 the 52 bus going north is not connecting with the mfl at 4:45 going east and my job donot like me being late it has been late all this week. I have a family to take care of If I keep on being late I will not have a job because of that damn 52 bus that time is in the morning.

Can you take an earlier bus? When I took Septa to school and work, I always made sure to take an earlier train than the one that would get me there just on time. Septa can often have problems that we can't control. With busses, it depends on traffic, so it's tough to say that they'll be on time each time.

This is 4:37 in the morning, not exactly rush hour.

That's true, it's not rush hour. Other factors that can cause a delay include lights, and people getting on and off of the bus. With Septa, I kind of expect a 5 minute grace period for a bus/trolley, meaning it could arrive 5 minutes early or late.

I am not a public transit passenger, so I can't relate other than when I took trains.

I can see an 8 minute window being acceptable for a rail passenger, but my guess (consistent with your experience) is it is too tight for a bus passenger.

One thing I just noticed - this appears to have been only this week. Seems like the 52 bus driver should know if an unusual situation is causing the problem.

The transit system where i live is almost always late or early by 5-7 minutes. You need to account for these things and if you find you are ALWAYS late, revise your work commute. Don't expect this to change, you'll probably lose your job first.

Is is possible if you can re-arrange the time with your job? There are managers that can work things with you.

Just becuase it wasn't mentioned and I believe I know, Septa rt 52 is a bus line in west Philadelphia.

As I understand public transportation, buses may be later than scheduled, but not earlier. When I was 19, I worked at a bank in Indianapolis, IN. The buses on my route would get me downtown five minutes late or forty minutes early. I always took the earlier bus and got coffee before I went to work.

Great review! Very helpful. I would be annoyed if the bus was constantly late.
