Tree Classic Complaint - Bankruptcy and did not refund a return

I purchased a pre-lit tree, and when getting it home realized it was too small. Returned it within the timeframe. Was notified later this company went bankrupt. Received info from legal firm representing tree classic to send them my info. Later received info from firm, with a "sad, sob" story and I could not be refunded my $249.00+. I get the impression they have opened under another name - I would recommend to do major research before ordering from their new named company.

When a company goes under, those holding the bag are the unsecured creditors (unless it is GM.) Your claim will probably result in little or nothing. Yes, a new company may evolve, without the debts of the old. Often a new company will buy the assets of the old, giving the old company some cash to pay off what debt they are able
