Register.com Informative - Register.com is a scam

Review by blacktreecouture92 on 2011-09-16
After spending several months completing all my content on my web site after the designer finished his part, I received a call from a company called WEB. COM who supposedly bought out the company register.com. I was told that they have a great design package and that I would be happy.. Well I then explained to the agent that I had just finished my content and that it was a lot of work as I did all it myself. And I also explained to him that I didn't wanna pay all over again for a whole new design and web site. I told him that it just wouldn't make sense. The agent then said that I would not have to pay for the first month and as an existing customer of rigister.com, they would move all the content for me and for free. "Just sent the file" the agent says. When the time came to do the job there were many many problems. I was told that they won't move my content and that I had to basically do it all myself. I'm a jewelry designer and creator, so much of my time need to be spent working on that. Not on re-doing web-sites. Ultimately I'm stuck with my current web designer who has the worse communication skills ever. It's been almost 9 months since he began working on my web-site.

If you have your own website ready, you can find a local host almost anywhere. We pay $20 per month for our webhosting, including email, etc, and we have total control over it.
