McDonalds Complaint - Rude Supervisor - ATM Machine

Review by whinney12314 on 2011-09-16
The supervisor Courtney at the McDonalds located at 1600 Cubit and Barger Drive in Eugene, OR. was so very rude and confrontational with me I turned and walked out. I withdrew $40 dollars from the ATM located INSIDE this McDonalds and it shorted me $10. I went to one of the employees, she said she didn't know anything about it. Another employee came out I explained the situation and how the ATM immediately showed out of service after my transaction. She said this is not our machine. I asked for the supervisor and Courtney came out with a portable phone and told me to call the 800 number at the bottom of the ATM machine. I asked her to dial due to my not having my glasses on ( I am 62 years old). She was very angry but dialed. I was speaking with the ATM representative and she explained to me that yes McDonalds indeed did own this machine and McDonalds loads the machine with money....the supervisor Courtney was listening to the conversation and immediately slapped a 10 dollar bill down on the counter and I repeated what the ATM representative had said the she would make sure my 10 dollars would be credited back to my account. I then walked away and the supervisor was yelling and I chose to walk out of the establishment and have no conflict. This supervisor Courtney needs much better customer service skills and I will NEVER go into that McDonalds again.

Mcdonalds owns the ATM but the supervisor didn't know it? Man, can these guys do anything right anywhere?

Agree with ticia: the ATM is provided by a third party who rents space in the McDonalds. I am sure most managers of MdD would rather not have them in their store, but the owners want the money off of them.

Great review. Very insightful. I believe it to be a valid complaint.

I'm wary of using those non-bank ATM machines. I highly doubt it was a scam in this place, but the fees that are charged are nuts! When I go to one of those machines (or any machine not owned by my bank for that matter) they charge me a service fee, and then my bank turns around and slaps me with a fee for the same pleasure as well. I get it from both ends!
