Ally Auto Finance (former GMC) Complaint - Ally NO BAILOUT for customers!

Contacted Ally a few days ago to seek reduction in car payment since retiring from US Navy and still unable to find full time employment. Have paid very good since May 2008 and have recently struggled to make the enormous payment. Contacted a poor speaking representavie that could only utter the word No as an answer to every question was asked for assistance to lower my payment even if just temporary. My wife has decided to try back earlier in the day in hopes of speaking with US representative to confirm if NO is the only option this company has to offer.

If you can't make the payment, maybe it's time to "trade down" to a less expensive vehicle, considering your financial situation. Perhaps a dealer could help you get into another vehicle that would have a lower payment.

GN, that's a good suggestion. Another option may be to see if a credit union will refinance the loan for you. It may spread out the payment longer but you may get a lower payment and a lower interest rate.
