Subway sandwiches Informative - Extremely Rude, Embarrassing experience at Croton on Hudson Location

Review by jpocc57 on 2011-09-17
My Wife and I with 2 children went to Subway purchased 4 sandwiches with coupons that stated one per person per visit...no other restrictions. The employee proceeded to complain that it should have read one coupon per family and was a miSprint. We explained that the miSprint issue as he claims should be dealt with by him with his corporate office.

The employee proceeded to complain loudly stating that we were taking advantage of a "loop hole" (his words) and that we were taking money out of his pocket, all the while there were other patrons behind us who left, and others sitting down that came up to us saying we should not take the abuse and leave. Another patron also said th the employee that his tiraid was innapropriate and embarrasssing. He proceeded to make the sandwiches saying how unfair we were being, and also speaking in Spanish with his fellow worker in an abusive manner about my family.

I did all I could to restain myself from further adversarial interaction, my wife made numerous attempts to contact corporate to voice our concerns, and all that was done is we were told that the complaint would be forwarded to the owner of the specific franchise, which they claim is their protocol. We were told tha we would receive a response within two days.....well 1 week later an 2 additional follow ups with corporate no further action was taken, and no response from owner. So much for Corporate caring about how their franchises are operated.

I have lost faith in Subway Corporate in their hands off way of handling an obvious poor business acumen of one of their stores...Shame on you Subway Corporate..To add we contacted corporate office in Connecticut and also in Georgia. SHAME SHAME SHAME

While this one instance of poor customer service was inexcusable to say the least, I don't think it has anything to do with corporate mismanagement of individual franchises, or their apparent "step back" approach. Subway must be doing something right, as they recently surpassed McDonald's in total number of franchises (not revenue...yet).

You might try speaking to the owner, but after reading your review, I doubt it would help.
