Best Buy Complaint - Strong Armed Robbery

On 9/15 I purchased a laptop computer online. I'm a long term SCI patient in the V. A. hospital and on the 16th one of the nurses went to pick it up for me. He was told he couldn't pick it up because it hadn't been released. All management would tell me is to call customer service. That turnrd out to be a nightmare. What a joke. I called customer service again today the 17th, and they told me I couldn't pick up the computer because they where holding it for a random security check. But they've already deducted the $435 from my account. They definitely didn't need a security check about that! These people just took my money and used it for a week. I believe it's called srong arm robbery.. I garuntee you Monday the poop will fly. I can't believe a major retailer would stoop to street thug level. Just TOOK my money. You can bet I'll never spend another dime there.

Could this have anything to do with the fact that the person attempting to pick up the computer was not the one who paid for it? That is the first thing that comes to mind.

trmn8r is right on. The policy is a protection against someone getting your credit card information fraudulently, making a purchase with said information and then picking it up.

I actually applaud Best Buy and any other retailer for protecting this information.
