Jc Penney Informative - Rude customers

Review by trl12375 on 2011-09-18
I work at Jc Penney and I find it completeley riduculous and unfair that we have to offer great customer service at all times especially when customers are downright rude or just annoying and want what they want when they want it... Well guess what half the time after coming off work from a job where I deal with inner city children I don't want to be nice to rude unnappreciative customers that are complaining over a coupon to save like two dollars... If your gonna do that have fun but expect zero respect back.

I think retail is the wrong line of work for you. You sound better suited to your other job. And that's a compliment!

I agree with Venice09. This doesn't seem like the right line of work for you. Dealing with anyone in the general public takes patients and understanding.

Working with inner city children takes patience and understanding, but it's also rewarding. I can only imagine how frustrating it is dealing with the general public. I am grateful for all retail workers because it's something I could never do. I often wonder what would happen if they all went on strike for just one day. The world would stand still.

I've worked in Customer Service for over 10 years. I understand your frustration. It's hard to stay positive 100% of the time, especially when you're face to face with someone who is being rude. I think everyone should have to work retail, or fast food, for at least a month. Then maybe customers would be nicer cause they would know what us CSR's go through.
