Southwest Airlines Complaint - Product-Price Fraud - Business Class Deception

Business Class Deception - Complaint
Review by rts6000125 on 2011-09-20
My wife and I ordered 2 BUSINESS CLASS tickets. [Cost $2053+.] We received 2 BUSINESS SELECT tickets, a product intended to look like business CLASS, BUT WHICH IS NOT BUSINESS CLASS.

In fact, the have only COACH CLASS service. Fellow passengers paid $300-400 for the identical service. We had the privilege of boarding SECOND, AFTER alleged infirm persons and kids boarded and took the best seats.

BEWARE SOUTHWEST AIRLINES DECEPTIVE PRACTICES!

I don't see where Southwest claims that these are a different cabin: http://www.southwest.com/html/travel-extras/business-select.html

Where the heck were you going? I don't think I have ever paid more than about $400.00 for a Southwest business ticket. And that was for a long flight in their system.

I guess two business round trips on a long flight will add up to a couple thousand dollars.

It appears the OP did NOT get the service he paid for:

Most airlines normally board those with disabilities before anyone else. As for the kids, Southwest normally boards them between group A and B, but there is also a chance the parents purchased business select as well.

Raven, I think the OP is indicating that they boarded the disability people and kids traveling by themselves first. Business select people get a boarding number A1 through A15. I'm not sure what happens if more than 15 people get business select, but I assume they would get A16 and so on.

I'm not sure what this person defines to be "best seats", but I would say that the best seats on a Southwest flight are the exit row seats. If the flight was a flight where people came from somewhere else and didn't get off, those people would also already be on the plane before anyone else boards.

Steve - I think if Southwest only sells 15 business select seats per flight - I have seen it no longer available on flights that still had other prices of seats for sell. Also, if they don't sell all 15, then no one with other tickets gets to take their place in boarding - so if only 3 or 4 were sold then the boarding zones for 5-10 and 11-15 wwill be empty.

I would bet that the OP wanted the bulkhead seats in the very front of the plane, as those are free to anyone. Children and those with disabilities are not allowed to sit in emergency exits rows.
