Burger King #825 Lexington KY Complaint - Tax amount incorrect

Review by coachandpeggy28 on 2011-09-20
I made a purchase (check#434 Drive thru #1 Sale #08000234) Monday morning
Sept. 19, 2011. The change from the $20 bill seemed short so I checked my receipt. Could not read faded cost column. Called restaurant around mid morning. Nice man on phone said my total amount should come to $6.20. Based on his information the tax should have been 35 cents (6%). Tax shown on receipt is $1.41 This meant I was overcharged $1.06. Today around 1PM I stopped by the restaurant; spoke with manager who proceeded to ink in $1 on the receipt saying that it didn't show and that new printer had been ordered. If this was a fact the tax should total 41 cents, not $1.41. Offered to give me a dollar. I left without refund as he kept missing the point -incorrect tax amount. We all are watching our pennies these days, but I don't think overcharging will help Burger King.

The whole thing sounds a bit odd. The register tape was weak, and the tax was completely messed up. Do you have any idea how much change you got for the $20?

Sheesh, sounds like quite the ordeal. A very taxing situation to say the least.
