Premier Auto Haus Downers Grove IL Complaint - Horrible car - Not the car that was pictured

Review by effertzracing63 on 2011-09-22
We saw a 2001 Impala for 4995 in an ad. Emailed several times and they came down to $4999, then $4799, then my price of $3950. Drove 200 miles and looked at the car. The passenger mirror case was cracked off and was held on with electrical tape, the brakes were all but shot, rotors were rusted and worn out, there was a knock in the steering, there was a big dent in the rt quarter panel, the inside wheel wells were spray painted, there was rust, and the paint huder the wheel well lips was all flaking off and it was all rusted. Soomeone just sprayed black paint over all the rust. The interior was dirty and could not stand the smell in the car. burn holes in the seats. Jerry the sales man was upset when I told him I was going to keep looking for a car and when I told him about everything that was wrong, he said "well you can't expect a excellent car for $3950" I ended up buying a car from a person on Chicago southside who does have a dealers license and works out of his house.. a bit leary about the neighborhood, but got a 2002 Impala, very nice loaded for $3400. When I got back home I looked at the ad for the first car and it was a black Impala, but it was not the car I looked at. It did show the same VIN but the photo in the ad did not have any damage, mirror was not broken. When I talked to the salesman before I drove down, I asked if there were any issues with the car and he said it is a fantastic car, in perfect condition, ready to drive home. Stay away from this place, it looks like a junkyard.
