Complaint
On 3-11-11,I BOUGHT A new Honda Fit. On 8-28-11 the salesman called me to come to the dealership. When I got there Rami told me that they were recalling the Fit besause they were no longer able to get parts because of the tsunami in Japan. He showed me a CRV 2011 with 4000+ miles on it. While doind paper work, he assked me to write a check for $3800. When I told him I didn't have the money nor would I have the money EVER!!!! He told me not to worry it would be "taktn care of." I'm 65 and on a fixed income. I put a stop payment on the check and now they are threatening to turn it over to a collection agency. On 9-16-11 I went to the dealership to discuss the check. While I was there they informed me that 3 days after I turned the Fit in, they sold it!!! PLEASE HELP ME. Roberta Simonton. I don't have a computer. Phone # 352-281-4744.

This sounds like you were taken for a ride, sorry. Call your local consumer protection agency and see what they can do for you.

I have to admit I don't understand the complaint. Was this car purchased, or leased? I don't see how a car that you bought can be "recalled" and you have to "surrender" it.
If the OP didn't have the money to write a check on 8/28/11, what check was a stop payment put on? When the OP says the dealership said not to worry about $3800, what did that mean?
I'm feeling particularly stupid this afternoon.
