Hughes Informative - Rip-off
Very disappointed in the slow service, and the high cost of paying for service that is a complete disaster...

Hughesnet is only a benefit for someone in a remote area in which there is no other option for internet. For a user that has little use it is viable as the data downloaded is minimal. For someone who may want to download music, stream video or plays games online it is not a viable option. Hughesnet will throttle your bandwith back to slower than dial up speeds if they feel you are using excessive bandwith and also will do so during times that the system is experiencing peak usage.

Good review. I'm a company with that prestige having such a slowservice. I would be disappointed as well.

As the first reply indicates, Hughsnet is good only for select consumers.
If you are a heavy user of the internet, it is a bad choice because after a daily data threshold, they decrease your speed and it becomes unbearably slow. This is explained in the advertising and on their website.
