Warehouse Store Fixture, Progress Lane, Waterbury, CT Complaint - Poor Customer Service/Company Policy
Poor customer return policy! I purchased two granite table tops, and discovered my wife had already purchased them somewhere else when I got home! I took them back to Warehouse Store Fixture and they would not give me a refund! They said I was entitle to a "store credit" only! I'm not in the restaurant business and now find myself stuck with a store credit. There is nothing in the store that we are interested in purchasing. The young lady at the front counter was rather snarky and said "your receipt says no refunds, store credit only....you should have known that". There is a major detail she is overlooking......you don't see that written on your receipt until after you have already handed over your money! She then pointed to a very small sign taped to the back of the cash register that is not very noticeable that states their company policy. I have a couple of issues with this: 1)There is a law in Connecticut that states you can return items for a refund within seven days. 2)The law states that any company policies contrary to the law must be posted on a sign at eye level in lettering that is 2" in height or greater. Why would any business owner in this day and age want to irritate a customer by forcing them to use a store credit (especially when I'm not in the restaurant business). Why not make to customer happy and know that I will return to them when I need something in the future? Now I will never go to their store or recommend them! My advice to anyone reading this....if you need anything from a restaurant supply company......go to Chef's Equipment in Wallingford, CT.....much nicer people to work with and no hassle returning an item if you made a mistake!
