AirTran Airways Complaint - Worst Customer Service Ever!
NEWARK, NEW JERSEY -- Never in my life have I ever been treated with such disrespect as I was through Airtrans employees. First, my flight was delayed causing me to miss my connecting flight, not too bad happens all the time right? Then I waited a few hours with a screaming infant to take a flight 45 miles outside of my original dest, totally understandable I'm sure. Then when we got into the airport at 2:30 in the morning my luggage and my 8 month old sons carseat was not there! When I went to file my claim I had misplaced my baggage claim number, considering all I'd been through that night I was lucky to have my purse, and the oh so nice and friendly attendent told me, "Well, there is nothing I can do, its your problem." My problem? A 300 dollar carseat and my luggage did not just up and walk out of the terminal by itself! He actually had the nerve to say it was my fault it was lost and I would have to somehow get it from the original airport. Considering that this is now 3:00 in the morning and I had been up for 23 hours I was at lost for words. I didn't know what to do, the airport was closed, the jacka** said he didn't know where a Wal*Mart or any store was, what was I supposed to do? I had to take a cab home holding my little boy in my lap and risk his life b/c it was not "their problem". What kind of world are we living in today? The next, or rather later that morning, I called and talked to someone in baggage claim, supposedly the supervisor, and her only solution was to come and get my bag and carseat myself, they would not deliver it even though they had misplaced it. When I explained my situation she blamed me and said I had opted to take that alternate flight and agreed to not have my baggage when I got there. That was such blatant b.s., I would have never agreed to such a thing, if I had I would have informed my family and they would have borrowed or bought a carseat for him to get home safely. I also wouldn't have stayed there waiting for my luggage for an hour and then filed a claim, DUH! To wrap up this long story, I will never fly with Airtran again, I would rather take a Greyhound and make an 2 hour flight into a 2 day trip! At least they know what customer service is and would never blame their customer for something that was entirely out of their control. AIRTRAN IS GHETTO, LOSERS, and with their current employee code of honor they are going to go BANKRUPT! I will be looking into sueing them.
