Office of Attorney General - State of Florida Complaint - Nationwide Insurance forcing me to switch my auto insurance ot them in order to transfer existing homeowners policy
TRINITY, FLORIDA -- I have been a customer of Nationwide Insurance for 9 years with their homeowners insurance and have never had a claim. I just left my agents office now only to find out that my policy is not going to be transferred to my new house unlesss I switch my automobile insurance over to them. This is outright corruption and racketeering on Nationwide's part. How does the State of Florida let these companies get away with this?? Why is it always the little customer that has to take the brunt of everythig? My current policy says nothing to the fact that it cannot be switched to another home. Is this legal what they are doing? I would appreciate an answer to my problem as soon as possible as I now need to go and get ripped off by other insurance companies who are like sharks just waiting for people like me to come along. Something needs to be done .
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I want to see something done that if you are an existing customer with no claims that they do not have the right to force you to give them your car insurance to transfer your policy to a new home.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
