Eastman Kodak Printers Complaint - A Piece of Junk - Kodak EasyShare 5100 All-in One Printer

Review by lynn.gray82 on 2011-10-01
Generally, the installation of a printer is a simple process; but, not in this case. It has been a most frustrating process for me.

I bought my Kodak EasyShare 5100 All-In-One Printer in 2008. From day 1, I have never been able to use it. Why? The same problem...after the installation set up process, the "red light" blinks continually for both the Black Ink and Color Ink cartridges and I cannot get past this point. I have uninstalled and re-installed this printer no less than 7 times since I purchased it. The printer never calibrates itself.

I have never been able to print a single character on it although I have wasted money twice trying to address what was thought to be an ink cartridge problem. Both sets of cartridges are completely full though the status "on screen" says they are out of ink and need replacing.

I have even gone so far as to leave this printer completely stored away for a long perod of time, thinking that it might resolve whatever issue it had by disconnecting the power source and letting it stay that way for a while. It has been no less than 3 years later and I'm still having the same problem.

This is a brand new printer and I can't get any service from it at all. Along with wasting the money I spent purchasing itin the first place, the additional ink cartridge purchases, and general frustration.

I am shocked that you bought any additonal cartidges if the printer didn't work from day 1. If it didn't work, did you consider returning it or getting warranty support (3 years ago)?
