Selling on eBay Complaint - There is no SELLER protection, Ebay always sides with BUYERS!
I have been on eBay since 2006 with 100% positive feedback. Until recently I started selling things for someone, and with the way this person has asked me to ship them, a couple have broken in transit. One particular buyer sent me a message saying that his figure was broken. So I sent him a reply attempting to follow eBay policy (or so I thought) saying I would send him a refund if he would send the item back. So then he says, if that is the best you can do it will reflect in your feedback. So this I thought was feedback extortion- one of ebays "policys" saying that a buyer cannot threaten feedback if you don't do something a certain way. So I sent him a message saying if you have nothing further to say then I will send your refund. Next thing I know, I have negative feedback which drops me down to 98.4% I tried opening a case on feedback extortion telling them what happened and they excused the buyer from the case. I then tried sending the buyer a feedback revision request and he refused. So I called eBay and told them this situation to a woman who just said "uh huh, uh huh, uh huh" to everything I said and didn't listen, and she said "unfortunately we cannot take this feedback off. And basically sided with the buyer saying he didn't want to change the feedback because of mistrust, and kept trying to tell me stuff I could do now that I had already done (Hence the not listening part). Ebay does NOTHING to help the sellers and ALWAYS sides with buyers in every case. I finally sent the buyers money back anyway and when he called eBay to get them to try to change the feedback, they told him that he shouldn't still be trying to help me and that he shouldn't feel bad about anything... REALLY Ebay? They should be helping out the sellers because we are the ones who LIST the items for people to buy. Without the sellers they would be nothing. Amazon.com is the way to go. Avoid eBay at all costs!
