Perkins Restaurant in Jackson, TN Complaint - Bad Food
We have eaten at the Jackson, TN Perkins many times and been well pleased with the taste and quality of the food. Sunday, October 9, 2011 was a different story. My husband ordered the breaded cod with extra crispy fried okra and french fries. The cod was overcooked, the french fries were cold and the grease was dripping from the okra. He ate the fish and french fries anyway but asked for green beans to replace the okra. We were finished eating when she brought the green beans and they looked they had been poured straight from a can and microwaved. He did not eat them. I ordered the turkey and dressing. I have had this before and it always looked and tasted fresh and delicious. This time the plate did not look enticing and the food tasted old - like it had been pulled from the fridge and microwaved. At the register we asked to speak to the manager and explained the problems to him. We told him we would pay for the food but just wanted him to know about the problem. He said he WOULD give us a discount if we wanted but showed no real concern over our complaint. When my husband said he was going to pay for the meal, the manager just said in a flippant tone "Well, sorry about that." and walked away. It will be a while before we go there again, and it had been one of our favorite places.
