Skechers Shape Ups Complaint - Falling accident

Complaint
Review by bullardbrenda0793 on 2011-10-10
Me & my daughter went to the beach for some rest & relaxation, & as I was walking along the sidewalk wearing my "White Sketchers Shape-Ups", I literally lost my balance with them & fell face first on the concrete as hard as I could. I bruised my whole body, shinned my elbow & hands to where they were bleeding. Everytime I wear those shape-ups they kill my muscle calfs to walk in them. I did not enjoy my self after that at the beach, so we packed up the following day & came home. Can anyone tell me what can be done about those shoes, if we can return them & get a refund or what has to be done to get them off the market.

There have been a lot of complaints about these shoes on this site. I think the fact that your calf muscles are sore lends credibility to Skechers' claim. Sounds like they are actually giving you some type of workout.

Sorry you fell and got hurt! Every time I see the Shape Ups I think I can't imagine being able to walk in them...they do not look comfortable at all!

Analysts say both good and bad about them, I've read some info that they actually do more harm than good, so I would never buy them. Just getting out and walking/jogging in regular runners is going to have huge benefits... IMO there's no need for any kind of "toner" shoes.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews about these, and haven't heard many great ones. I know they change your balance, and it can take a bit to get used to them....at least, this is what my mother says. I saw her in her pair a few times, then never again.

Hope you are ok from your fall. If you have your receipt its worth a shot at returning them. If not, you could try selling them to a local consignment shop.

Sorry to hear about your fall. I'd be surprised if you could return the shoes after wearing them. Have you considered donating them to a local womens' shelter?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. these shoes change the natural skeletal structure of your body, and are NOT good for you. There also was a big news report the other day, that they do not improve anything, but cause problems for people who wear them.

Sorry you had such a bad fall and hope you are feeling better.
