Campbell's Soup Complaint - Campbell's Potatoe and Brocolli soup

Review by butl637095 on 2011-10-11
I bought a few cans of campbell's potatoe and broccoli soup. Being vegetarian, I thought they would be a good meal for while I'm at work. Firstly, the title is very misleading.... The can also contains chicken. I buy soups all the time and there would usually be a label on the can that says "NOT Vegetarian".... Unless of course you're buying chicken noodle soup.. or any other soup that would obviously contain meat. I was really upset with Campbells and won't buy any more "Potatoe and brocolli" or even "Vegetable" soups from them since they can't be straight-foward about what's in their soup.

But they aren't deeming those soups as Vegetarian meals only.

It's always best no matter what food plan you follow, whether vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, etc to always read the label.

I don't eat Glueten. Many of the packages label the product as Gluten Free now. It is a big help as we had to spend 1/2 our time reading little labels. Once we find a decent Gluten Free product we stick with it, less package reading needed.

Gluten Free does not mean you're eating cardboard like a few years ago.

We have a Glueten free bakery you would love!

Wish I was not 1,000 miles away, LOL. We have had a couple Gluten Free stores open and a few bakeries in our area. They seem to be doing very well, guess there are a lot of Non-Gluten people out there.

As Skye suggested, you should always read the label. Never just assume a food product is vegetarian. I don't think I've ever seen a product marked "Not Vegetarian".

I am with venice, I have seen lots of products labelled 'vegetable' or 'vegetarian,' but I have never seen any packaging that stated 'not vegetarian.'
