Maytag/Whirlpool Complaint - Washer is disappointing - Centennial Commercial Washer

Centennial Commercial Washer - Complaint
Review by Maytagger on 2011-10-11
I have a Whirlpool stove, Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer (Maytag appliances all bought since the first of 2011). All except the washer work as they are supposed to...but. The washer does not perform as I would like. There have been occasions when a cycle has completed running that I find part of the sheets (at the top of the load) that are not even wet! There is no truly gentle cycle. The spin cycle on all the cycle selections spins the clothes to death. My old washer (Whirlpool) had a cycle that really worked with permanent press and had a great gentle cycle. I find that my delicates are spun as I said almost to death. All my permanent press now need ironing. And the ball for fabric softener is really a joke. I have found white spots on some of my dark clothes that have to be washed again because the softener is not being spread around and/or washed out. As a old time Maytag/Whirlpool customer I'm sad to say I would not recommend this washer.

It's ironic that the item that made Maytag famous also became its downfall. I waited a long time to get my first Maytag washer, and it turned out to be a huge disappointment. I would never buy another one.

The difference between old and new is a change within the water and energy reduction measures taken by the government. All the manufacturers have changed their product lines to top loading units which fall in line with these regulations. In a proverbial nutshell, most top loading units now simulate the way a font load washer operates. Models produced under this Centennial line offer different variants allowing the user to control certain attributes of each wash cycle including the delicate and stronger wash cycles.

What does your comment have to do with this review? I don't see any association whatsoever. Are you saying the OP's washer is supposed to work that way? That's a depressing thought.

Good review. AYS +1. Awesome comment as usual! I'm surprised you haven't gotten your first star yet. Keep up the good work.
