Target Compliment - Fixed Their Mistake
APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA -- I shopped at Target in Apple Valley, MN last Friday and picked up five or six items. The total cost was around $20. When I was finished, the cashier handed me the coupons that the machine spits out but no receipt. I didn't think much of it because I knew I wasn't going to return Dr. Pepper or cat litter.
Two days later, I checked my credit card balance, and it seemed a little high, so I checked the pending transactions and noticed that I was charged $125. I went back to Target and explained what happened. They looked at the video and went back and pulled the receipt. Apparently, the cashier never closed out my purchase, and I ended up paying for the groceries of the person behind me. She bought a lot of crackers. But I digress.
They had to go through every purchase line by line, but they got all the money back on my card for me, and they gave me three $3 off coupons for their error.
Mistakes happen, and it's the sign of a good company when they fix those mistakes immediately. I will continue to shop at Target (and make sure I get a receipt). Thanks to those who helped me on Sunday.
