Cooking area and no soap in the restroom - Complaint
Review by macie.grider58 on 2011-10-14
JOPLIN, MISSOURI -- My family stopped off for breakfast...i did not want to order because my first clue was the restroom. no soap...i brought it to their attention and I was told the soap despencer came off the wall and they did not know how to put it back up. a bar of soap still works...then everyone ordered food and I could not eat for looking at the filthy work area and the filthy floor.

It's good to always remember the way a food place maintains their restrooms, is a reflection of how they maintain their kitchen.

Sounds nasty. How could anyone possibly want to eat there, knowing nobody who works there is washing their hands with soap and water?

You should contact corporate and let them know what you were told. They want to know about a customer's experience.

This is a good complaint, and Skye made an excellent observation in her comment. Yuck.

For some reason I am seeing an old Waffle House as I read this complaint, but they do have new properties as well. This is unacceptable at any location, new or old.

The Waffle House, as do most other eating establishments, has a handwashing station in the kitchen for employees. I cracked up imagining kitchen staff running to the restroom constantly to wash their hands. Doesn't happen. The manager should be made aware of the lack of hand cleanser in the restroom as well as your feelings about the overall cleanliness of the eatery.

Yes that's right lexo - I have spent some time in kitchens. It seems they should wash them before leaving the restroom though - you know, handling the door handles and all.

I assume you have also spent some time in restrooms trmn8r, and are aware of the fact that not everyone washes their hands before exiting, or do not wash for the length of time (or wash correctly for that matter) it requires to dispel most germs, the availability of hand cleanser notwithstanding, therefore door handles would be a moot point. My training requires the use of paper towels or some other barrier, like a sleeve or elbow for example, to turn off the faucet and to open the door with.
