All Whirlpool appliances - Complaint
MICHIGAN -- We have pretty much owned Whirlpool appliances all our life. Recently, I remodeled my kitchen and purchased a new stainless steel dishwasher and stainless steel electric range. I like the dishwasher, however running a normal cycle lasts 3 hours. It may be water efficient but not electric. It takes forever! When I placed a service call, the technician walked in didn't do anything and told me that is normal. Nowhere on the appliance info and details in the store does it say it runs a LONG time.
I purchased the range, had it delivered (my mistake that I was not home) and when I opened the door there was a part of the seal that looked like a frayed out jump rope. I called to complain that my range had a flaw. They sent out a serviceman who told me he couldn't really fix it and that my range was assembled wrong. I called again and they sent out a repairman who snipped off the cording and tucked it in the door. He said the 1st repairman got in trouble for telling me that. Also, there is a vent across the top of the door which is a poor design. While cleaning or cooking, something ran down the vent so now my new range has run marks inside the two windows in the door which you can't get to. Whirlpool's answer? Sorry, that's cosmetic and we can't help you. I asked customer service for the CEO's name and address. They weren't sure. It took several e-mails to get it. It's attached at the bottom and I'm sending him a letter. It doesn't help to ask for a supervisor or manager when calling Customer Service, because they are just as worthless.
One other thing, I purchased these appliances in my name only. My husband has been dead for years and whenever they would call they would ask for him. I cannot tell you how many times I called. We thought we had it fixed. Nope, the other day they called and asked for him again. I cannot tell you hurtful it is to have phone calls to a deceased member of the family.
