American Home Shield Complaint - Worthless policy is a scam.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- Have spent 2 weeks now trying to get satisfaction from American Home Shield to replace a hot water heater. It took 3 days to get a response from AHS and another 4 days for the contractor to show up. After paying the $60 service fee I was given an estimate for $290. It will cost $350 to replace a $275 water heater. The contractor planned on charging me $169 for a pressure relief valve that anyone can buy at Lowes or HD for $27. When I tried to cash out on the repair, I was told AHS will pay $295 only if the repair is inspected by a plumber and electrician.
Save the cost of paying for this worthless policy and put that money towards repairs. You'll be a lot further ahead if you do.
