AT&T Go Phone FastCard Complaint - FastCard Refill Cards for AT&T Go Phone - Defective PIN Number
BALTIMORE REGION, MARYLAND -- Purchased an AT&T Go Phone $25 Refill Card at a Target store in MD on the first week in October 2011. The PIN number was UNSUPPORTED by AT&T - Did NOT Work as AT&T had advertised – Tried the FastCard number given on the card 1-800-352-4071. The Customer Service Agent (in India?) was unhelpful. I suspected the card number was bogus and went to a local AT&T Mobile Store, but the Service agent there was UNHELPFUL, as well: NO SUPPORT AT ALL!
Went back to the Target store where I purchased the Refill Card to get it exchanged. The Target Customer Service Manager was very nice. She went out of her way to help me (UNLIKE AT&T). She verified that the Refill Card that I purchased did indeed NOT accept the PIN Code. She courteously exchanged that card for a replacement. The Second AT&T $25 Refill Card exhibited the SAME symptom. She then painstakingly waded through all of AT&Ts 800 number menus in to EVENTUALLY get an AT&T Customer Service Representative (something that the AT&T Store SHOULD have done and did not!) and was able to determine that the Card manufacturing company (Fastcard) that AT&T uses for the Go-Phone program is indeed at fault (AT&T Customer Service after all would NOT listen me after several call attempts).
The near total indifference of AT&T and AT&T Customer Service (or Fastcard) is disheartening to say the least. The Target Customer Service Manager was able to get AT&T to provide the $25 service promised (and NOT DELIVERED by either the AT&Ts Service Rep or their local store).
