Kit Carson Steakhouse Compliment - Excellent Food and Service

CHEHALIS, WASHINGTON -- On Saturday, Oct 15, Crystal and I, a friend of ours and her cousin dined at the Kit Carson Steakhouse, and the experience was worth every penny. The two ladies had the Prime Rib dinner, Crystal enjoyed their fish and chips, and I had the New York steak special. My steak was one of the best I have ever eaten, and Alan, our ssrver, wno told us he has been in the business for thirty years told us they dry age their beef for 26 days, and then a meat cutter comes in and cuts the steaks. Alan was a fantastic server, very knowledgeable and on the ball. Our friend and her cousin lauded the Prime Rib, and Crystal stated the Fish and Chips was even better than our usual fish place, Skipper's. My steak was served with a green salad with Bleu cheese dressing, and was great. The greens were fresh and crisp and the croutons were not like I usually get, you could actually spear them with a fork. Also on my plate were French cut green beans and onions. I was told the baked potatoes were perfectly done, just as mine was, and were served with a healthy dollop od sour cream for me and sour cream and chives for the others. The coffee was probably in the top three that I have ever had. Kit Carson's was purchased in February by a Korean couple, and Alan said they were wonderful people and knew the business inside and out, and had improved the restaurant from what it had been. I have to agree they have done a great job. If you are passing Chehalis, look for the sign at exit 76, and Kit Carson's is on Interstate Road.

Sounds pretty good, Star. Have you eaten at Ramblin Jack's Rib Eye? I was passing through your way this past weekend and we stopped there... a little too "cowboy" for me, but the smoked rib eye was darn good!

We had a late breakfast/early lunch to see our friend's cousin off...I had a cinnamon roll with cream cheese that was fabulous, but had to bring half of it home....it was HUGE!!! Star had a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy and seemed extremely happy with it, the others had omelets with hash browns and bacon and raved about it, move over Denny's, we have a new favorite place and its very close to home...for now! Kit Carson's prices are fairly affordable, and that's a plus in my book!

A most enjoyable review! The only thing stopping me from catching a flight to WA for a first hand culinary expedition is the knowledge that I wouldn't fit on the return flight. They'd have to ship me back by tractor-trailer!
