Dish Network Complaint - 4 hours on hold, just to be put on hold again. Still waiting...
CARY, NORTH CAROLINA -- I'd like to talk to a customer representative about my TV package selection. After calling every single 800 and 877 number listed for Dish Network online, I can conclusively say they all go to the same call center with the same recording.
The last time I was on hold for one continuous hour (not being transferred between people) and never spoke to a single person. I got a recording the entire hour that I was "next in line" which means that out of all the people they have answering phones for Dish Network at the Customer Service Dept, all of them together answer less than one phone call per hour. I'm not sure how many hours it would have taken to have my call answered, as it never did get picked up.
The ONLY way to get to talk to a live person is to choose the option that you are a NEW customer and do not currently have Dish Network. They are quick to answer those calls. She told me to call back the number I was calling all day and not press any options (which of course is not an option on the actual recording so they don't want you to know this).
I finally got through to a Customer Service representative. She said that if I wanted to buy equipment, it would be anywhere between $100 and $400, which is a huge difference, but she has no idea how they determine how much they're going to charge each customer. So she said she was going to transfer me to someone who might know the answer to that, and in order to do so I would be on hold for "just a few moments." In actuality, I stayed on hold for half an hour and was never answered.
My first task to take care of today was to call Dish Network and talk to a representative. It is not 4:06 PM and I am still trying to talk to someone. The person who finally answered said there is no place to leave customer feedback or write a review, which basically means they have no reason to treat their customers well.
In short, Dish Network only cares to talk to people who want to sign up, but if you are an existing customer with a question, they bave no incentive or requirement to help you out, and very much live up to that.
